Who we are
We are an IB continuum school offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). We are a communtiy of around 1100 students and 185 staff members from all over world. ISU is a member of the Dutch International Schools (DIS), a group of government-subsidised schools providing internationally oriented primary and/or secondary education. As such, ISU is part of two collaborating school boards, SPO Utrecht (primary) and Nuovo Scholen (secondary).
Vacancy
The International School Utrecht is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Primary Psychologist with BIG registration.
Qualifications and experience:
- Master degree in Psychology, preferably in Clinical, Educational, or School Psychology
- BIG registration as healthcare specialist (GZ-psychologist)
- Experience in primary education with children in the age group 4-12.
- Knowledge of and experience with diagnostic tools and treatment methods
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- Flexible and proactive
- A solid understanding of a wide range of evidence-based learning support and social- emotional interventions used in a school setting
- Experienced with working in a school setting, preferably in a support role.
- Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English and Dutch
- Willingness to work closely and collaboratively in a strong team and able to work independently
- Demonstrates professionalism, commitment, integrity, and perseverance
- Be culturally competent with an internationally minded attitude
Responsibilities:
- Assessment and guidance
Conduct psychological assessments and observations
Analyse learning and behavioural issues
Develop action plans in collaboration with teachers and parents - Support and advise
Provide support to students with social- emotional or learning difficulties
Assist teachers and parents in managing specific issues
advise on appropriate education and care pathways - Prevention and intervention
Develop and implement preventive programmes on topics such as anxiety, bullying, and resilience.
Collaboration with internal counsellors and care coordinators - Collaboration and Networking
Maintain contact with external organisations such as youth care services and mental health institutions
